This week we peacefully lost our dear Pop-Pop at 83 years old. I’ll miss grandpa most for the times we spent together watching the news, and taking trips around Florida & California together. He was such a bright and loving light in my life. He’d always say, “hello” whenever he found something funny. Here’s some incredible things our grandpa did. Our Pop Pop, the Honorable Rodney A. Coleman attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and earned his degree in Architecture from Howard University before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. He designed numerous installations for Air Force bases around the world and served multiple tours of duty during the Vietnam war. After leaving active duty, he held senior leadership positions in business, government and the military. He spent 14 years as an executive with General Motors, before being appointed, by President Clinton, to a four- year tenure as Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Manpower & Reserve Affairs. Rodney was also a Partner in the Washington, DC based government and public affairs firm Alcalde and Fay. Our grandpa was a proud member of the White House Fellowship and served on many boards and advisory committees including museums, hospitals and the Tuskegee Airmen, of which he was most proud. 🙌🏽 I’m so grateful for Ma Shar’s love of grandpa, and the time @davebautista flew me as a surprise to visit him (pre-Covid) while we were filming My Spy. We miss you Pop-pop, and I hope you rest well. Love, Chloe 🙏🏼❤️
