coming to you live from this genre-shattering season of life! where have i been you ask? what have i been up to? why, i’ve been tangled up in flow activities to block out the torschlusspanik that LA capitalizes off of (said flow activities including but not limited to: sudoku, fiction novels, optimizing decisions that do not matter, & revisiting half finished coloring book pages from 2020), thank you so very much for asking! they (‘they’ being an undoubtedly reputable source, trust me) say your 20s are for channeling your youth & vitality into new opportunities & experimental antics (disguised as pragmatic risk-taking). i, however, say they’re for throwing anything & everything at a wall & seeing what sticks, but that’s neither here nor there. i mean my good arm is a little tired at this point but overall i’m in high spirits! while the claustrophobia of this city (how is it so stiflingly vast?) is doing its very best to calcify me, i’m defiantly embracing the definition of ‘hanging in there.’ i’m living w close friends, journaling in the grass, reminding my students (& myself) to breathe, moderating my love island intake, thinking the very best of people. surviving in LA by any means necessary. it ain’t much, but it’s honest work.
