London looks more like Spain or California. All the grass is dead. There are trees standing in a piles of their own dead leaves, just burned from stress. New growth on other trees is curled up and burned. It's like a coral bleaching event. The trees are all in shock. The England where I was born was a place full of wetlands and tadpoles, ferns and bluebells, rustling, lush green summers. They say the climate will be Mediterranean within a couple of decades, and many of the dreams of life that once thrived in the English countryside may fall into silence.
