Hey, Dance Festivals... In the spirit of our tap masters ...."CHALLEENNNGGE"... Very often at Dance Festivals across the country and the GLOBE- you're lucky if you see ONE percussive dance artist. As a tap dancer, that is always disappointing, disheartening, and I'll say it...Disrespectful. There are so many BRILLIANT percussive artists creating work consistently. I am SO DAMN PROUD to be able to include them in our Little Island NYC Dance Festival. I am Artist in Residence here for 3 years and I get to put my head together with my favorite co-curator @thatgirltorya to present a DIVERSE group of artists while giving the floor to a whole lot of percussive dance artists.
