I still smile... Long time no see my beautiful Curlfriends & hairstylist friends. I am still here just have been resting & reflecting a lot since being back home. Being home in Germany gave me a breath of fresh air & inspiration to keep pushing through. Living my life amidst having a terrible health diagnosis I’m dealt with is a part of the everyday fight with cancer. Most days I am in pain or am not feeling well but I still smile. I keep my smile because each day I wake up on earth I am grateful to have been given a chance to live & spend time with my kids & loved ones. I often get asked about time & how much I have left having stage 4 cancer. Truth is I have no idea as stage 4 cancer things are always changing. Who really knows how much time any of us has right? A dear friend told me this, “We aren’t dying until we are dying.” It helps me to focus on truly spending my days enjoying all the small & big things in everyday living. Having things to look forward to helps me to keep going as well. My trip also brought me a lot of clarity on my future & daughters’ futures. I built Sunflowers & Scissors®️ to create a legacy for my 3 daughters to carry on in my absence. I know that they will continue to carry on the feeling & heart of the brand for me. With that said I am currently working on finishing the curriculum & locking in details for my last class I will teach to hairstylists to help fundraise for my 3 daughters. Once I teach that class I will officially retire altogether from the beauty industry. October is the month I am looking at so once I get the date for that class I will announce it here, on my website, & newsletter. I’ve been more tired than usual & my body has been feeling a bit off again. I am getting ready for scans on my body & bones to be done this Friday to make sure the cancer is staying stable so I am wishing for those results. 🌻✂️ Continued in my comments...
