It wasn't until I became a mother, that I was able to begin to comprehend the deep love and the deep sacrifice of my own mother. The fact is, only another mother can truly understand. The way your body permanently changes. The way your time is no longer your own. The way you mourn your previous identity while simultaneously and almost immediately stepping into a new one. And how in spite of those things, there's nothing you wouldn't do for them. Nothing you wouldn't give of yourself. It just might be the only love on earth that doesn't keep score.
