The short answer... YES! You are what you eat 😉
Here’s the science: Glycation is a natural process that occurs when the sugar in your bloodstream attaches to proteins (such as collagen and elastin) to form new molecules called “Advanced Glycation End products) or AGEs. The more sugar you eat, the more AGEs you develop. A low fat diet combined with foods with a high glycemic index has a compounding and detrimental effect on skin.
Once AGEs form, they have a direct effect on reducing the production of collagen. Proper nutrition on its own can’t abolish the aging process, but it can slow the decline for sure.
