Long ago, I used to give a big dance and black tie dinner on New Year's eve, (in years before that, my husband and I would pile into bed, and watch movies on New Year's eve, eat popcorn and fall asleep before midnight. My favorite. I've never been a big fan of New Year's eve, lousy weather and people try too hard). Eventually the New Year's eve dinners shrank to just a black tie dinner. Once alone, I had poker nights on NYeve, which was REALLY fun. And eventually about 7 or 8 years ago, I decided to work on New Year's eve instead. It has been the perfect solution, although I miss the poker nights, which were really fun!! I start work when my kids leave after Christmas, and by New Year's eve, I dont know what day or time it is, and the stroke of midnight goes unnoticed when I am lost in the story. It works well for me. And I finished my latest book on January 1st, which was a great start to the new year!!! And my latest book came out on January 3rd, Without A Trace. I am very excited about that book, about a man who has a car accident and seizes it as an opportunity to walk out of his unhappy life and let everyone think that he is dead, while he starts a whole new life. I love the concept, and I hope you love the book!!! #daniellesteel
