Story time! Because the past 24 hours have been wild, exciting, and beyond rewarding... After closing ‘Million Dollar Quartet’ at Peninsula Players on Sunday, I came home to Chicago and joined @paramountaurora’s production at the new Stolp Island Theatre for my first rehearsal, where I’m set to begin understudying both Johnny Cash and Sam Phillips on September 4th. But yesterday, the world had other plans: only 12 hours after my first day on-site, I received a call asking if I’d be comfortable stepping into the role of Johnny Cash for the evening performance. If I hadn’t come off of an amazing run with my crew at Peninsula Players, and a solid foundation during Thursday’s understudy rehearsal, we wouldn’t be here right now. But instead, we decided to rock out, and I got to make my Chicago theatre debut! Thank you to the entire cast & crew at Paramount for what has already been such an amazing process, and for trusting me with a story I’ve cherished for so long.
