stoked to share that WHY LOOK UP, GOD’S IN THE MIRROR will play in the hometowner narrative short film competition block at this year’s 25th annual Indie Memphis Film Festival. I started making films five years ago during a time in my life that felt really uncertain. Indie Memphis embraced me and introduced me to a ton of creatives who’ve helped me grow in art and life. making music videos over the past few years has been a tremendous film school. I was itching to make a another narrative, and we ended up making a musical set in some mystical world conjured by Lukah’s lyricism. nearly 20 days of shooting later, a huge thank you to Lukah for going down this rabbit hole with me, and to my one four three family for bringing it to life. super grateful for Sam: to work with one my very best friends who is also insanely gifted at making images. shot on RED, transferred to 16mm. you can watch online now at the link in my bio!
