It’s one of my favourite seasons of the year and that means Cherries! 🍒🍒🍒 This ‘martini’ is nice and light with the addition of coconut water and just the right amount of tart-sweet cherry juice. You could always substitute the gin for vodka if you prefer, but don’t skip the Elderflower liqueur- it has such a nice floral undertone that pairs so well with the cherries. Cherry Coconut Martini In an ice-filled shaker, combine: 60 ml (2 oz) cherry juice 30 ml (1 oz) coconut water 60 ml (2 oz) gin 30 ml (1 oz) St. Germain elderflower liqueur 1/2 fresh squeezed lemon Dash of cherry bitters (optional) Strain into a flaked coconut- rimmed coupe and garnish with fresh cherries. (Hint: Use agave or corn syrup to rim your glass) 👉🏻Also did you know that most Canadians suffer from bi-measurement disorder? 🇨🇦 is supposed to be a metric nation, but we still use fl oz to measure bar drinks. 📏 🤷🏼‍♀️ Other things we ‘measure’: -temperature in degrees Celsius, unless you are cooking in an oven or telling the temperature of a pool or hot tub- then Fahrenheit -speed -metric (km/hr) -distance - metric (km) unless it’s far away then in hours 😂 -human weight in lbs but groceries or very heavy things in kilos -liquid volume in metric (like litres of gas, milk, etc) but for cooking we use cups/spoons or fl oz!
