Swipe ➡️ - I’m in Dallas, TX now a conference and for my event tonight I am wearing a dress I wore when I was Miss Iowa ‘99 and competing for the title of Miss America at the 1999 Miss America pageant (I didn’t win, but we know that… so let’s move on…🫣). One of my prizes when i won miss iowa was a $500 Dillards gift card- I used it to buy this dress and some bras I needed for Miss America. This dress initially came with a shawl (see next photo), but honestly I think it makes me look old and I can’t find it anyway 🤷🏾‍♀️ so im not wearing it tonight. The photo on the right is me in this dress during a press event during the Miss America pageant in 1999. This is the first time I’ve worn this dress since 1999 *sigh*- it feels so surreal. But it’s comfortable so yay, and it’s nice to recycle a dress I haven’t worn in years. Oh, and im standing on a chair in my hotel room to take the pic because my hotel has no full-length mirrors. Time does fly…. ♥️
