Incredibly grateful to receive the Central Saint Martins Dean's Award for Class of 2021. Works from this project will become a part of the permanent collection in the Saint Martins Museum Archive. UNIFORM, an exploration of spaces of protection and safety through the school uniform in Kingston, Jamaica. Seen as an equaliser to Classism and socio-economic divide by providing a level playing field, void of external categorisation of one's self based on tangible wealth.⁠⁠ ⁠⁠ While contrasting it to the idea of the uniform as protection, this project amplifies and celebrates the nuances of individuality injected into the uniform. Viewing the idea of 'richness' as an internal construct founded in the individuality that one brings to a space of conformity, as opposed to an external object.
