Ethical, land focused fiber harvesting so there may be life in the years to follow, as well as increasing farm biodiversity to capture carbon from the atmosphere. The fashion industry creates a lot of waste! From water pollution, plastic waste, landfills, deserted land, and unethical labor- it’s wild. The pollution is more than maritime shipping and international flights combined. The change starts with us. Some things we can all do today to help are buying less, buying from transparent/sustainable brands (check @goodonyou_app ) buying second hand, and using our clothes longer. If you don’t like the way something looks before you toss it, try a natural dye or having someone repair it for you, or even giving to friends/shelters. The clothes we donate to huge organizations don’t always go where we think 💭 I have friends in other countries suffering massively from clothing pollution that was imported. In actuality, the unnatural fibers we wear are bad for our health in the long run- from toxifying the earth to micro plastics shed into our food.
