On the 7th of December 81 years ago the United States declared war on Japan. Three days later when Germany and Japan declared war on the United States, the world was fully engaged in World War II. The greatest generation fought against fascism, of which racism is a foundational aspect. To see racism ascendant in our nation is not what the brave men and women fought for. We don't shred the constitution and we don't espouse hate with a hand on the Bible. I stand with my Jewish friends and colleagues. I will not allow racism to become part of the national dialogue.
