In the studio with Qhamanande Maswana. South African artist @qhamanandemaswana uses vibrant colors to depict the Extraordinary People he meets on a daily basis — be it strangers, acquaintances, or family members. He is driven by the desire to document their individualities and narrate their stories through painting. Maswana is inspired by their clothes, hairstyles and how they carry themselves and he dynamically folds reality with imagination in his portraits. Each portrait is an adventure, an expression of Maswana’s experience of being a young artist in South Africa, and a study of a person’s unique character. “Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt” exhibition.
