Hey friends! It’s been years since I introduced myself! For a quick intro, swipe through to read a profile that Flower Magazine wrote about me last year. For a deeper dive, read on. I grew up on Boston’s North Shore, where I still reside with my amazing husband of 32 years. I’m a leo. Roar. Although I first studied interior design and fashion illustration in college, ultimately I got my degree in fine art (painting) and graphic design. Post college with a new diagnosis of Polycystic Kidney disease, I was determined to “Live, Live, LIVE!” while I was still healthy! So I spent a year as a boat bum sailing around the U.S. and British Virgin Islands. Halcyon days indeed. And I can still tie some killer sailer’s knots. Then I spent three years as a ski bum working for Taos Ski Valley in New Mexico. In the off season I created southwestern themed papier-mâché sculptures, which appeared on the pages of French Vogue Magazine. I finally settled down and got my graphic design career grooving. I designed and illustrated marketing and promotional apparel, accessories, and collateral for major worldwide corporations, including: Pepsi-Cola, Volkswagen, Beanie Babies, M&M Mars, McDonald’s, Tommy Hilfiger, F.A.O. Schwarz. Eventually I settled into the educational book publishing field, designing and illustrating for top U.S. publishers, such as Simon & Schuster and National Geographic School Publishing, for over 35 years. I’m an oil landscape painter, and show my work regularly. My “Egrets at Dawn” diptych was voted the ‘People’s Choice Award’ at the annual Crane Estate Art Show in Ipswich, MA. I’m obsessed with painting interior portraits and concept rendering for designers. Although I‘m super tech savvy, I prefer to paint my work traditionally, with no digital assistance. My interior portraits have been shown in UK’s World of Interiors magazine, and selected portraits are currently showing at ‘The Heritage’ salon in Venice, Italy. My paintings have been published in the two Classical Shindig entertaining books, with volume 2 coming out soon. I’ve also painted commissions for Ralph Lauren.
