It’s my birthday - and here’s a poppyseed zavyvanets from a wonderful book on Ukrainian food and culture by @yizhakultura - I haven’t quite got it right as I for unknown reasons rolled it into a slightly gigantic swirl shape - and I couldn’t help but cut into it before it had properly cooled down... no patience! But as I prepare to go back to Ukraine again I’m in total awe of the incredible resilience and strength of the people there - truly inspiring.
