When you think of the Australian bush, what do you visualise?
You're probably picturing a box-ironbark forest!
Box-Ironbark forest provides important habitat for more than 1,500 native species including woodland birds, squirrel gliders and the critically endangered swift parrot.
Together with volunteers, Traditional Owners and other agencies across the state, we are working to ensure the ongoing best-practice management of this important ecosystem.
Some of the best examples are now protected in Greater Bendigo National Park on Dja Dja Wurrung Country and Warby-Ovens National Park on Yorta Yorta Country.
