Can anyone really understand what they’re signing up for when they become a mother? Your body changes. Your brain rewires. Your priorities shift. It’s a love you can only begin to imagine, and then, somehow, it’s even harder to describe. The weight of responsibility is heavy. The days are long. There are no days off– even when you’re away (at work, sleeping in the next room, or out to dinner with friends), a piece of you is always with your child(ren). I had no idea what was ahead when I started this journey. Some days, I question whether I’m even capable (or worthy) of the job. Each year that passes gets easier... and harder. I am often tired and always grateful. To my boys, I love you. I’m so glad you’re mine.
