@mariotestino HAPPY JULY 28TH, PERU! While photographing festive costumes from my native country, I realised that the care put into everyday clothes in the Andean world has its own magic. The looks are built, from the skirts to their amazing hats, to be precise in their expression of beauty and of identity. On this anniversary of Peru's independence, as we celebrate our country, I wanted to share these images of the traditional garments wore by the women of the Andes. An heritage that makes us Peruvians proud. _ Mientras fotografiaba trajes festivos de mi país natal, me di cuenta que el cuidado que se pone en la ropa cotidiana en el mundo andino tiene magia propia. Los looks están construidos, desde las faldas hasta sus increíbles sombreros, para ser precisos en su expresión de belleza e identidad. En este aniversario de la independencia de Perú, mientras celebramos a nuestro país, quería compartir imágenes de estas increíbles mujeres, que mantienen vivas las tradiciones de sus comunidades. Una herencia que nos llena de orgullo a todos.
