Repost from @grant_alyea • Build/Bulk: At TSC we recommend staying in a calorie surplus for minimum 6+ months progressively overloading exercises in the gym (track numbers and effort). Avoid reckless/intuitive eating and stay methodical around nutrition. It is critical to push hard enough, eat enough, recover enough and build long enough in order to put on enough muscle tissue to make for a successful build. Cut: Take plenty of time to cut/lose fat. This will give you the best chance at maintaining as much natural muscle as possible. Also, sudden weight loss can give a saggy, deflated appearance to the skin. 20+ weeks is recommended depending on amount of fat/weight to lose. Keys: a continuous measured calorie deficit with appropriate macro ratios, increased cardio as needed, continue with progressive overload training, rest, lots of water and cut back on alcohol (or none).
