Yesterday was such a heartbreak. I had heard the news of Duffy before learning of Terry’s death, but waited till the family released it. The last time I saw Martin was at my wedding in Brighton when he emotionally hugged myself and my wife and wished us all the love in the world. He was a one off, a totally unique man with an amazing sense of humour who sucked you into his crazy world. In some way we are all ‘marmite’ people, how we feel about each other is often determined by first impressions and that’s a lot to do with the mood we’re in and how we perceive others and the shit everyone has going on at the time. That said, Duffy was one of those very rare people in that you couldn’t not like him. He was a litmus test of your humanity.
