It’s been more than 5 month of full scale invasion of my country. During this time I’ve witnessed so many things - pain, despair, fear, grief, sadness, but what I’ve seen more - are support, love, help, believing, taking care. Strangers are hosting refugees, giving them home, food, money, support. Yesterday strangers becoming your close friends and helping you to go through maybe the hardest time of your life - in every country, in small and big cities. People with different wealth but always a big heart are helping Ukrainians to withstand. By donating money, by coming here and defending your country, by taking decisions, by giving us weapons, by standing with Ukraine, by raising awareness, by speaking up the truth, by buying Ukrainian products, by hiring Ukrainian specialists, by hosting refugees, by supporting, by smiling and giving a hand. I feel gratitude for everyone who helped any Ukrainian🙏 And I want to tell you more about Ukraine. To tell more about us - to help you understand why we are so desperately fighting evil and what are we defending. What is it so important that our country is standing against russia who is dozens times bigger. It is our culture, our traditions, our DNA. Of course I won’t be able to cover all, but let me try. I hope this will give you more understanding of a country who you are helping so admirably❤️ I would like to start from culture and one of my favorite Ukrainian poets Taras Shevchenko. He was a wonderful man with tragic destiny and powerful spirit. He has hundreds of beautiful works but I have one special for me. It’s a poem that I read on 2 page of my childhood book. I was around 7 years old. I loved this book so I memorised first pages and they are forever in my soul. One of the poems was his. It’s so simple and picturesque. Being a child, I thought it’s so lovely. Later when I grew up and learned history, I understood more of its meaning and about life of people in it. I invite you to read it below. Hope you will enjoy!
