If you saw my last post, the reason why I went to @piggysmallshawaii was because of a dish I tried at their other restaurant, @pigandthelady. I came to The Pig & The Lady for welcome drinks and apps the night before @claire__tofu’s wedding and was blown away by their Bo Luc Lac (shaking beef). I knew I had to come back here for dinner! The Pig & The Lady started as a pop-up, then a farmer"s market stand, and then a successful brick-and-mortar shop in Chinatown in Downtown Honolulu. The restaurant is led by twice-nominated @beardfoundation semifinalist Chef Andrew Le , otherwise known as @fishsaucebordelaise (great IG handle!) The food here is a fresh take on traditional Southeast Asian food, utilizing local products and flavor profiles that will make your taste buds happy. It is built on delicious memories first introduced by Chef Le’s mother, who is widely known as Mama Le. She is also considered to be “the Lady” in The Pig and The Lady moniker. 💛 If you’re in Honolulu or planning to visit, @pigandthelady and @piggysmallshawaii is definitely worth checking out! Swipe through to see what we had and be sure to check out the last slide, which shows the inside of their bathroom and features an homage to the movie classic, Big Trouble in Little China. 1.
