As a way of saying thanks for all the support you’ve given EVERY SUMMER AFTER, I’m answering the two questions I get asked most: Q: Are you going to write a sequel/a book about Charlie/a book from Sam’s POV? A: I honestly don’t know! My editor and I spoke a little bit about our thoughts on this on Episode 229 of @badonpaperpodcast. Q: Can you please share some writing advice? A: Yes! If you have questions for me about writing fiction (and all that contains) or my own process, drop them in the comments. I’ll answer as many as possible in an upcoming newsletter. (If you haven’t signed up to my newsletter yet, you can do that on my website — the link is in the bio.) For my subscribers who’ve already sent me questions — thank you! I’ve got them on file. For fun, here’s a photo of my first draft of EVERY SUMMER AFTER, which I was then calling SWEAR ON IT. (My agent came up with the book’s much more fabulous title.) In the third photo, you can see that the first page of the draft is pretty much the same as what appears in the book. The fourth photo is of the second page, and I made my own revisions at this stage. It was further revised in the editing process, so it’s somewhat different from what you read in the final book.
