I credit all of my love, appreciation, and knowledge of music to this guy. The man, the myth, the legend. KD squared. My favorite dad. We spent the last few days seeing live music together, bands he grew up with and I grew up listening to. He still quizzes me on band names, song and album titles, and on the occasion—the names of any band member AND their replacements. (I’m a BLAST at parties and trivia nights, can you tell?). He’s taught me many things, but I think maybe how to love & care for others and a deep, deep love of music are some of the greatest gifts he’s given me. The last few days are a new core memory forever etched into my brain that I hope I never forget. And if I do, here it is on Beyoncé’s internet to remind me. He’s my dad. He’s the best there is in my book. Thank goodness he’s mine. ❤️
