An ode to the dude. @judsonawright was the first guide take the chance on me as a young, naive practicum in 2019. I was privileged enough to work alongside him and the @kootenaybackcountry_guides team until getting the recommendation I needed to get into the mechanized world. Moving quickly in the guiding path, I realized that after my life fell apart last season, I needed to make a drastic change. Judson always reminded me that there’s a vast world out there, and to try to experience it all. Not taking any courses this spring allowed me to join Jud along the Wapta traverse. I’ve never been on a trip in the Rockies I thought this would be an excellent addition to my resume. What this trip really taught me is that it’s easy to get stuck in the bubble, and I’m so thankful look outside of it for once. Life is a precious thing, and I plan on exploring and pushing limits until my time. Thanks for always kicking my ass and pushing me Jud, you are the definition of a mentor 🙏🏽. . . And for the record, my snowboard broke on the last day so I skied a small portion of it (very poorly)
