Happy International Women’s Day! This is for the women of Ukraine. I’m not Ukrainian nor do I have family there but I am a human being and a mother with a family who I love with all of my heart. Watching Ukraine being attacked by Russia is heartbreaking to say the least. Families, communities and a whole country is just being torn apart. One of these slides is of the women of Ukraine, literally going to fight a war that shouldn’t even be happening. These are normal women, like you and me. Who have been put in this awful position where they HAVE TO FIGHT A WAR. They say “we’ve already taken our children to safety” like...I’m sorry, can you imagine dropping your child off and saying goodbye to them knowing you possibly won’t ever see them again, because you are going to fight a war? I definitely can’t, but you should because it’s possible and happening right now. The safety of our babies shouldn’t be a luxury to us and our babies weren’t created to grow up to fight a war. What Russia is doing is barbaric and I will forever stand in solidarity with Ukraine. On that note, a little over a month ago I started making felt flowers in my free time just as a hobby. It’s fun and overall just therapeutic for my mind and soul. I’ve been making sunflowers that I’m selling for donations. I have 10 available $50 each in hopes of raising $500 🌻 The sunflower is between 12-15” and has 40-90 petals. They are definitely made with lots of love. The money will be going to @ukrainethanksyou which is a direct fund to help Ukraine refugees get supplies like food and shelter for their children. This will be completely transparent and I will keep you updated with transactions.
