HAPPY PRIDE! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ . sharing some of my favorite moments and memories of celebrating pride over the years as June is finally here! pride month is the best time of the year when we reflect and celebrate LGBTQIA+ people- our existence, our power, our contributions to this world, our love, and our stories. pride month, however, is celebrated in June to ensure we never forget our Black and Brown queer and trans siblings who fought back against violence, discrimination, and lack of basic human rights for our community at stonewall in june 1969. this pride month, as our rights are under attack in many states across the country and around the world, it is more important than ever to be showing up for the LGBTQIA+ community, especially trans and non-binary people. tell queer stories, donate to queer charities (and have your employer match!), buy every rainbow thing on earth (but only if those producing the items are giving proceeds back to the community!), MARCH, and fight for full and complete human rights and safety for every single person. we are not free while any person is unfree. for housing, healthcare, workplace protections, food stability, education, voter access, marriage and family equality - lgbtqia+ rights are human rights and today and every single day, pride is about our mere existence being an act of resistance. but let us never forget the importance of queer joy. march on, friends. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
