It’s official. After 18 years of working with communities I’m officially “retiring” from aquatics. I started my journey into aquatics when I was a literal child as a lifeguard in Oceanside CA. I was such a brat. I’m so glad I got to meet some of my closest friends from lifeguarding but I have to give a special shout out to my supervisor @dishouttawater . Dish is the sweetest supervisor you could ever want. I appreciate your patience with me so much! Such an inspiration to how I supervise to this day! After college I eventually moved to NYC where Ive been actively lifeguarding, supervising and teaching aquatics all over the city. Although I have so many memorable people to tag I also have to give a shout out to @montess.j__ . Thank you for being my rock especially when working with wtf we’ve been given lol. I first met @montess.j__ when I was her supervisor. She was only 17 at the time and I wouldn’t let her lifeguard on her own even though she turned 18 the next day 😭😭. Cuz I’m just that type of supervisor. I know you thought I was a bitch at first but now your literally one of my best friends. Thankyou for putting up with my strict ass. I also just wanna say Thankyou to both the west coast and east coast communities. The calls texts and letters I still get to this day reminds me that I have inspired entire generations of families. I always get choked up when a family tells me that my swim lessons have broke generational water trauma. The amount of lives I’ve saved over my 18 years of aquatics is something I will always cherish for the rest of my life. I’ve been specializing in working with children with special needs and adults with extreme Aquaphobia. With that being said I will only extend my lessons to those that desperately need them. Wish I could tag everyone I’ve worked with and inspired but I would be here all day. I’m excited to expand and inspire more communities with my new position.
