‘The Lady of Avenel’ Fanad Peninsula, County Donegal, Ireland Yesterday I visited Fanad Lighthouse & was greeted on arrival by this majestic tall ship, which was anchored in the bay right next to it. It looked like the scene from an old pirate movie! ☠️ In my mind I was imagining pirates ram shackling this old lighthouse in search of valuable plunder 😄 Built in Cornwall on 1874 it is amazing to see this historic vessel still sailing the high seas nearly 150 years later. I hope she visits our waters more often as it's certainly a welcomed site.
