12 years ago today I went on air on HSN with none other than @therealmaryjblige to launch her first ever signature scent, My Life. In 24 hours over 60,000 units were sold. The entire experience from our initial meetings to talk about her perfume likes and dislikes, to working with fragrance giant, @firmenichfine on its creation and watching this woman I admired so much make a physical thing from ideas in her head, is truly one of the major highlights of my career and my life. For Mary the scent had to embody simultaneously the beauty and the power of a woman. This was achieved by the artful blending of glorious white florals like Tuberose, lilies and jasmine in a base of incense and sandalwood. The scent stood on its own and enveloped the wearer in its wonder and left the most amazing sillage. I am so happy to still have a bottle tucked away in my fragrance vault for special occasions. Thank you, Mary for such a wonderful experience.
