🌈 rainbow in the dark 🌈 This style is not braids but Senegalese Twist. I am 59 in tall so that is the length and it took almost three days to do bc I had to take care of my child, finish my look for NY and then fly still. All that and I wore it for just a week. 😭🖤 I have worn this style the first time ten years ago and it has been so long since I actually twist them in! The first time I got them done professionally I didn't know that I would discover my some of my ancestors roots and lineage from Senegal! The POWER I continued to carry every time ! The last few times were crochet just for a performance or two. Still lived but it felt liberating to wear these extension of my hair and power in true form again! I use to want to be a braider and would make these and locs to crochet for sale! But after a few sales I realized I was not helping or reaching my target demographic. My goal is to inspire all ppl to connect better with your roots and make the best of that. So although I don't see myself selling thses or doing hair professionally, I hope y'all see all this JOY and you start finding yours too! ALSO if you have to EXPLAIN your heritage, meaning you aren't unambiguously black, OR if you have fine texture and delicate hair, this style will not likely be for you. One for cultural reasons I shouldn't have to explain. Two bc this can be a protective style and albeit this isn't heavy, it requires much pulling in order to style.
