Happy to finally share some documentation of our work 'Eventide' by LABOUR and Fa' Pawaka at Julia Stoschek Collection Berlin curated by JSC and REIF in September 2022. Over the past 5 years, LABOUR has been developing a format we call 'sonic activation'. By means of sonic parcour facilitated by a nuanced mixture of amplified and un-amplified sounds, this specific format seeks to creatively present architectural space - drawing from all of the unique site-specific spatial characteristics including distance, reverberation, sound localization and material interventions - thereby revealing subjective interior space by promoting active listening and curiosity: for sound is indeed something that approaches one externally, yet remains primarily an internal experience. For this site-specific 'sonic activation' we were thrilled to collaborate with Fa' Pawaka and her sacred tuning practice, and work with the virtuosic vocalist Sainkho Namtchylak, and the talented and open minded singers and percussionists of the newly forming Show Choir.
