Happy World Ocean Day, Southern Hemisphere Edition! This morning we hosted an Instagram Live with @worldoceanday and @jahawibertolli, who discussed the need for environmental advocacy, Marine Protected Areas, multi-media conservation, and youth involvement in ocean conservation. If you missed the call, don't worry! We'll post a recording soon enough, but in the meantime, take some time today to learn how you can help preserve our oceans and their habitats. Oceans and the plants and animals that call them home are critical habitats for marine life, communities, and the global ecosystem. The number of ecosystem services we derive from the ocean is incredible. It provides us with a food source, recreation, climate regulation, the oxygen we breathe, and so much more. Learning about how we can protect these incredible ecosystems is vital, as threats of plastic pollution and sea level rise from climate change continue to grow and endanger the oceans and everything within them.
