Can you believe this was actually our plan B? Sometimes the second option ends up being the best thing you could imagine!! Audrey and Michael’s priority for their elopement was to get away from crowds and feel like they were the only people around. We had planned a hike out to a different glacier lake where we’d paddle around and explore the beach, but a few months ago Michael got a leg injury and we reevaluated for something easier on his recovering knee! So we ended up using our favorite form of transportation, and the best way we’ve found to get away from everyone 🚁 We’ve been out to this lake a few times before, which was super helpful in planning out all the logistics and sorting our gear! We know rain is pretty much always to be expected at some point on your elopement day in Alaska, so Callen came prepared with a big tarp, firewood, rain gear, and umbrellas. We got super lucky with a full hour of sunshine and blue skies when we first landed and then it started raining on us while paddling with the bergs. After a super aesthetic picnic under the tarp 😆 we braved the occasional drizzle for their ceremony beside a crackling campfire. After another paddle (we couldn’t get enough of the ice!) while Callen tore down camp, we packed up and awaited our ride home, then ended the day with fish and chips from a divey spot on the harbor. It was perfect in every way! MVP: @callenhearne for sure ❤️
