Rest in peace to the littlest angel who passed away one week ago. Sadie was more than my sister’s dog; she was my friend and a source of joy and comfort over the last decade. She loved everyone she met and was full of barks and happiness. She was the perfect pup: a playful cuddle buddy who reminded me that there is something special in everyone you encounter. She saw magic in each new person she met and was genuinely the nicest dog in the world. I wish more people and animals were like her. Whenever I was sad, I’d look at photos of her. I ran her Instagram @sadiepupgram because I wanted the world to see how special and cute she was, too. Sadie was with us through a lot. I remember the quiet moments with her most, where I’d pet or hold her and feel her warmth. And I’d tell her I loved her all the time. She was the best, put simply. Sadie and my brother were good friends. She was there for me when he passed away, when she felt the change in the house, too. She helped me get through those first days without him, then the first and second Christmas. I did not live with Sadie, but even from afar, I cannot adequately express how much beauty and magic she added to my life. I’m so grateful to have known her. We are so lucky to have animals join us on this journey of life, especially dogs and cats who become such special companions to us. Never take the ones you have or meet for granted; they are someone’s miracle and life sweetener if not your own. My littlest friend, the loveliest, cutest little yappy but happy angel, I’ll love and miss you forever. Rest easy, bestie. Thank you for making this past decade all it was, with just a wag of your tail and an excited bark. Every second with you was the most precious, extraordinary gift. The last slide is from when my family first met you. 💕 #maltese
