From Joel Meyrowitz’s “Aftermath” 21 years later people seem to be forgetful of an event that changed the world in a way so violent and profound that a lot of its after effects influenced our lives in so many ways beyond the obvious. I find it sad and alarming that people these days have the memory of a goldfish. Not just for the thousands of lives that perished under the debris but for the fact that 9/11 was an attack on the free world, to a way of life. In the frenetic pace of life and social media we tend to fail to grasp the importance of history and its aftermath. We forget who we are and where we are headed.
