Extra (chromosome) extra (chromosome) read all about it! 💛 Looks like our little lioness 🦁 has an extra chromosome 21! ✨ And how do we feel about it? Joyful. Peaceful. Content. ♥️ Back in March, we were anything but. (If you’ve been here, you know we did a genetic screening at 9ish weeks to find out gender but we also learned that our girl had a 95% chance of being born with Down syndrome). We were fearful, anxious, and overwhelmed. We quite bluntly said, God change our circumstances or change our hearts. And won’t he do it? Over the course of this pregnancy, he showed us our own preconceived biases and fears and He helped us work through those. What was also helpful was connecting with other families with a kiddo with trisomy 21 who met us where we were at with zero judgment, and really the core of it, prayer. We are SO EXCITED for this journey with our precious one and beyond grateful God chose our family to love her!!! Sweet girl, we just ask that you would get big and strong so you can come home from the NICU and we can give you alllll the cuddles.
