Man and Woman, Adoration, 1908. Gustav Vigeland (1869-1943).
The final bronze sculpture has been placed at the entrance of the Ekeberg Park in Norway. Vigeland depicts the charged relationship between man and woman. Uncharacteristic of its age, the woman is the strong character in control. The man is kneeling before her and tries to keep her in his grasp.
Gustav Vigeland is Norway's most famous sculptor. He spent his youth in Paris and got inspired by Auguste Rodin's work. Gustav Vigeland occupies a special position in Norway, both in the power of his creative imagination and in his productivity such as the Vigeland installation in the Frogner Park, Oslo. If you have not been there, you should put it on your bucket list. Its an amazing park and part of the inspiration for the Cage campaign.
