EXTREME OWNERSHIP. . After my divorce I blamed. After my bankruptcy I blamed. I blamed my ex, I blamed my partners and the market. I found a laundry list of excuses for why my life wasn’t working. . Then one day I stopped saying the word “BUT”. . “I was an ass to her BUT it was because she did this or that.” . Nah man, I was just an ass. . “I did my part BUT the employees didn’t do theirs.” . Nah man, that’s my team. . The truth is today I OWN EVERYTHING. . Got in a car accident? . You chose to drive down that street. . Investment went to shit and you lost all your money? . You chose to invest. . Drama at home? . You chose to say I DO. . OWNERSHIP. . It’s the most LIBERATING & POWERFUL thing a human will ever do. It’s powerful because you take 100% OWNERSHIP of the current reality. . GOOD OR BAD. . That’s the catch... it’s fun to lift the trophy 🏆 ... it’s fun to celebrate the win! . But If you’re gonna play that game, than you gotta play the whole game and when it goes to shit, YOU MUST OWN THAT TOO. . ALL OF IT! NO EXCUSES! . This year I’ve made moves and some of them have not worked out. Some things frustrate the fuck out of me, and as I look around at him or her or my team, I realize they are my team. I hired them. I trained them. I’m leading them, and If shit ain’t working than that’s on me. . It’s frustrating as fuck. . It’s also liberating cause there is no one to blame as I OWN IT ALL. . As a risk taker, and as a guy who wants to build big shit it takes rapid and intentional movement, movement that in many cases doesn’t have a blueprint and takes movement that makes most folks uncomfortable, and that’s ok. . I joke with my team but I also am speaking to myself as i say if it was easy to build a billion dollar company everyone would do it, and the truth is building a million dollar company is a feat most will never reach, let alone billions! . The most powerful, humbling, intense, frustrating move I’ve made in my adult life is OWNERSHIP. . OWNERSHIP OF IT ALL. . My body. My relationships. My business. My family. My mindset. My faith. My entire reality. . OWN IT. OWN ALL OF IT. . EVEN AND ESPECIALLY THE SHIT YOU DONT WANT TO. . Thats the ultimate FREEDOM 👊🏼
