We are counting down the days/hours { ⏳ } until the doors of our beloved historic building in the oldest part of the oldest city in our corner of the world, Philadelphia, reopens. I named our showroom & event space Sphinx & Snakeskin { @sphinxandsnakeskin } to honor both the otherness & chimera~ness the Sphinx can represent when looking at her with a different sort of lens: the protective nature she can perhaps bestow on those who are both/and, who gather within her gates here. As for snakeskin ~ we are constantly transforming ~ there’s an uncomfortable aspect to coming out of one’s shell / to growing loose of one’s skin ~ the snakeskin is sacred in many practices & also, for me, represents another guardian I hold dear, Medusa. I love thinking of all those who’ve collected within the doors of a space I’ve named for them, who have maybe felt the fierce protection of these creatures of myth & who’ve perhaps crossed back over our threshold with a piece of my/our well wishes & hearts~ for at its hearts blood of it has always meant to be a gathering place, a place to be inspired & hopefully, for you to inspire and comfort others in turn with *your* kinship & presence. • While many of the offerings we are conjuring are meant to be surprises for those who attend~ we wanted to share some of the special jewel offerings we’ll have at our space irl this Saturday from 2-6pm ~ some are variations of what we already have in our 🕸️ { purple lab Sleeping Medusa } others are ooak’s that may go into some form of production in the future but the stones are forever special { for ex: spiderweb obsidian stones are showroom exclusive due to how many we have on hand 🕸️ } • So grateful for those of you already en route to us, who will be en route to us from afar, and those local folks who already have been sending us 💌 notes or who have run into one of us and spread your joy which then runs through us like a vibrant ribbon of electricity !
