2004, NYC, Def Jam. These girls were my foundation as we worked together in the big city at the record label. We all had dreams - one day, Nicole would focus on her musical career, I’d become a filmmaker, and Heather would focus on her faith and become an entrepreneur. And we all did just that. Nicole went on to perform with Justin Timberlake, Kelly Clarkson, Robert Glasper, Bruno Mars and more. And in spite of fighting cancer for many years, she still had that beautiful singing spirit. Even though we hadn’t seen each other in years, that deep connection of friendship was always there. Those are the early days that define you, how you find your people, and how you grow.
