long one so buckle up. my first day back in so long, and one of the most fun lifts i’ve had in a minute. i’ve always enjoyed hitting legs because i feel like that’s the first place where i really started to learn intensity. since then obviously ive applied it to everything that i do, whether that be another body part or beyond the gym- it really changed my perspective on a lot of things. there is something so raw about struggling to get a rep up and still, despite all circumstances, going for another one. and call it corny, but it really does expand out so much vaster than just lifting. your mind is such a powerful thing. i remember my best friend driving me to the airport one day, she recalled her mom telling her “it’s the coolest and most dangerous thing- you can literally have anything you want in life.” i’ve thought about it ever since she said it to me. we are constantly sitting on the edge between liberation and temptation. like looking out to see the entire world is open to you, yet noticing the cliff beneath your feet. it’s a paradox within the great human potential. the thrill of autonomy and the pursuit, and the jitteriness in knowing that reaching that line is strictly in your hands. everything you want is within reach, but be prepared because whatever you grab onto will shape you just as much as you shape it. anyways, labrum seems to be holding up so far so good. my second time using this hack squat since i injured myself in july. yea it sucks not being at the same level of strength that i was, but ive always enjoyed a challenge and i know ill be back even better in no time.
