The Pride movement is a force for good, together we have the power to drive change. Manchester Pride is uniting with fellow Pride organisations, @birminghampridefestival , @brightonprideofficial and @prideinlondon to take a stand against the FIFA World Cup hosted in Qatar. Major sporting events such as the World Cup are a time for people to come together, and football is a game enjoyed by the masses, around the globe, in a convivial way. But by choosing to host the World Cup in Qatar, FIFA has demonstrated a complete lack of consideration for LGBTQ+ people.
