On this date 13 years ago, I took my last final exam of freshman year and went home to see you for what I didn’t know would be the last time. You passed away that night. Momma, I miss you so much. And these years have been so hard without you physically here. But! I am excited to say that this year, I get to honor you by walking across the stage in two days. And I’ll have you on my cap so you can be there with me. I thank you for raising me to be a woman with an ethos that centers love, sophrosyne and equity.
