LABOUR presents sungazing at X100 ✨ Thank you to everyone for this great adventure ❤️‍🔥 Drawing inspiration from ancient Zoroastrian rituals involving sun and fire, this new work begins where 2021’s ‘hit of enlightenment’ left off, and opens up an experience of acoustic space with a large mixed ensemble of strings, percussion and voice, drumsets and electronics. Working with such Xenakian techniques as stochastic distribution and sieves theory, the artists regard sungazing as a metaphor for an experimental lifestyle practice that prioritizes the potential of an empirically derived emancipatory practice over the potential dangers of indulgence and mispractice.
