A glacial tongue invited me into it's world, licking grey rocks beneath and blue skies above. One of the most alien and corporally curious spaces I have visited the past ten days. Working between 2000-3000 meters to 3D scan glacial formations. A tunnel through 100.000 years of ice. You hear water rubbing beneath your feet, but you cannot see it. Blue colors of the skies refract through ice walls and bounce around the space. A piercing wind of tiny biting frost particles blow from the back of the cave. A strange mist slowly appears. Ambiance transition from bright blue to strange grey-green tones. A loud crack is heard. You stand silent. Within a short delay, a piece of the glacial tongue ceiling lands and breaks. The silence is broken. A monumental glacier can talk, and it's tongue subtly tells you to leave. Excited to have spent the past ten days exploring glacial formations at high frosty altitudes, together with artist and writer @joelkuennen. Will share more on this project soon.
