Would You Eat Your Own Thoughts?
Yes, I’m a yogi, but I’m also human, so it’s not always positivity and sunshine in my mind.
Let’s be honest: yoga is my way and, in my opinion, one of the best ways to quiet the mind. However, negative thoughts can still infiltrate.
Earlier this week, my therapist, Monica, posed this question to me in our session: Would You Eat Your Own Thoughts?
I paused for a moment and thought WOW. Those ugly thoughts, the ones that cause me to slip into negativity, why would I ever choose to eat those if they were food? I wouldn’t. And when I asked you all, you agreed. I don’t fuel my body with crap (except for a bag of Cheetos now and then), so I’m no longer going to eat junky thoughts.
Of course, it’s always easier said than done, but hopefully, when those negative thoughts creep in, you’ll remember this and reframe your thinking, and step on your mat. I know I will.
